Tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, as well as eWn’s coverage of the show, was dedicated to the memory of Windham Rotunda aka Bray Wyatt as well as Terry Funk.

Cody Rhodes paid tribute to the late Funk on Smackdown tonight, reflecting on Funk’s recent passing. Cody highlighted Funk’s legendary rivalry with his father, Dusty Rhodes, in the 1970s and 1980s, and shared memories of both Funk and Bray Wyatt, who also tragically passed away on Thursday at 36 following a heart attack. He mentioned his history with Wyatt as his mentor during the first season of NXT.

Rhodes also recalled traveling with his dad as a child and hearing Funk’s colorful description of Dusty as an “egg sucking dog” at an airport. He described both Funk and Wyatt as “cowboys in the best ways” and emphasized Funk’s significant accomplishments. A video package showcased Funk’s career, followed by Cody’s remarks on Funk’s dedication.

Rhodes then introduced a Terry Funk Hardcore Match between the Brawling Brutes and The Street Profits to honor his legacy, that followed his promo.

It has been a tough 48 hours for the wrestling world. We saw a truly emotional episode of SmackDown tonight and we continue to mourn the loss of Bray Wyatt, as well as Terry Funk, and send our condolences to their friends and family.
