AEW President Tony Khan has called Sting’s run as part of AEW a highlight of The Icon’s legendary career.
Sting joined the promotion in late 2020 and has competed a total of 17 times on AEW programming, where he boasts a 17-0 record.
On the “Chase McCabe Show,” Khan spoke about Sting’s run in AEW so far and is thrilled to have the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion on board. He said,
“When you talk about some of the biggest names in pro wrestling, for me it starts and ends with Sting. He’s one of the all-time legends. He’s one of my all-time favorites. Sting is still a huge part of AEW, and one of the greatest things we accomplished was bringing Sting out of retirement. He is still wrestling to this day. He is undefeated in AEW, in fact, and he’s on the greatest run of his career right now in AEW.”
Sting will be in action again next weekend at AEW All In, where he will team with Darby Allin to face Swerve Strickland and AR Fox in a tag-team Coffin Match.
