Bully Ray & Tommy Dreamer Debate The Jericho Appreciation Society’s Disintegration

On the latest episode of “Busted Open Radio“, hosts Bully Ray and Tommy Dreamer shared their insights regarding the disbandment of the Jericho Appreciation Society on the recent episode of AEW Dynamite, highlighting its impact and potential outcomes.

Dreamer expressed his admiration for the segment and Chris Jericho’s leadership within the stable, attributing value to the meticulous attention Jericho pays to details. He underscored Jericho’s role in solidifying AEW’s credibility by simply stepping up to the podium. Praising his ongoing contributions, Tommy Dreamer said,

“I enjoyed the segment. I have enjoyed everything that Jericho Appreciation Society has brought to the table — that’s also because I know Chris is a stickler for detail, and if you think about it, he gave AEW validity when he walked up to that podium. The guy has continued to crush it each and every week, and he has gotten over not one but two groups. He’ll get anything over. He got his cruise over. That’s Chris Jericho.”

Meanwhile, Bully Ray speculated on the future trajectory of the former Jericho Appreciation Society members, identifying a dependency on Jericho’s presence for direction. He noted that in Jericho’s absence, these individuals appear somewhat disoriented, highlighting their need for his guidance, particularly due to their relative youth. Ray posited that among the group, Sammy Guevara might be the exception, having previously demonstrated the capacity to thrive independently.

“Whenever Jericho is not with the JAS, they are lost puppies. They don’t know where they are. They are all younger, but they need Jericho there to help them, to continue to guide them. The only one I think could truly survive on his own is Sammy because we’ve seen him get over without Chris around.”

Ray also offered insights on how the segment’s placement impacted the broader context of the episode, suggesting a possible dampening effect on the overall atmosphere.

“There wasn’t that big match feel, there was something missing in the arena. I wonder if the JAS segment just drew people down a little bit where they found it difficult to get up for The Hardys and The Bucks.”
