Update On Roman Reigns Being Injured At WWE SummerSlam 2023

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was injured while battling Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat Match at the WWE SummerSlam 2023 pay-per-view event from Ford Field on Saturday night. When Jimmy Uso cost his brother the match, Reigns was able to win the bout.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it’s believed that Reigns suffered either a hip or back injury from Jey’s tope about five minutes into the bout. 

As previously reported on eWn, there are no plans for Reigns to miss his internally scheduled appearances.

Fightful added that “there were those who would likely be in the know in a creative capacity for Smackdown who hadn’t even heard about the injury until word emerged Tuesday.”
