WWE NXT commentator Booker T feels he is able to cut loose and have more fun on the gold brand compared to his time behind the desk for RAW and SmackDown.
Booker joined the NXT commentary team in October of last year, replacing Wade Barrett following the Brit’s move to SmackDown to replace Pat McAfee.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet of “Insight”, Booker compared his time with NXT to RAW and SmackDown and said he is able to have more fun on the brand. He said,
“When I was on RAW, when I was on SmackDown, everything had to be politically correct. Of course, I had, you know, something in my ear [Vince McMahon]. You know, sometimes, you couldn’t be yourself. And I find myself at ‘NXT’ being kind of like I am here at Reality of Wrestling. You know, I’m throwing my clipboard. I’m having fun at the same time.
“It’s just all about having balance. And trying to think about one thing, first and foremost, and that’s the young guys, the talent, and trying to put a spotlight on those guys. And, you know, hopefully, give them the rub is something we talked about in the business.”
Some of the talent from NXT have competed for Booker’s Reality of Wrestling promotion including former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez.
