Carmelo Hayes Retains NXT Title Against Ilja Dragunov At WWE NXT Great American Bash

During Sunday night’s WWE NXT Great American Bash pay-per-view event, Carmelo Hayes defeated Ilja Dragunov to retain the NXT Championship in the main event of the show.

The final moments of the match saw Dragunov take Trick Williams down with a Torpedo Moscow at ringside. Hayes brought the action back into the ring and nailed Dragunov with a Nothing But Net for the pin to win and retain the title.

Hayes’ NXT Title reign now stands at 121 days, winning the gold from Bron Breakker at NXT Stand & Deliver in April.
