Kota Ibushi made his highly anticipated AEW debut as part of ‘The Golden Elite,’ defeating Blackpool Combat Club and their “allies” in a hellacious Blood & Guts match on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
Formerly a massive name in Japan, Ibushi’s debut in All ELite Wrestling was met with a mixed response, with most agreeing that Blood & Guts was not the suitable environment for his debut and some criticizing his performance in the match as being too slow.
Ibushi recently took to Twitter to respond to the said criticism, and you can view the English translation of his statement as well as the original tweet below:
“I’m home. It’s my fault that I didn’t know thumbtacks and glass after all this time. I have thin wrestling shoes, so it penetrated, and it was just painful from the middle, and I ended up moving like an old man.
I’m sorry! Far from being unable to kick, both ankles were stiff. Life with a cane for the first time in my life No, I’ll be cured tomorrow! That is Kota Ibushi!”
それが飯伏幸太だ! pic.twitter.com/m4rxeT1U9s
