Tyson Tomko was slated to become a member of the Main Event Mafia before his abrupt exit from TNA in 2008, according to Kurt Angle.
On the latest episode of his “Kurt Angle Show” podcast, the Olympian spoke in-depth about the group which included himself, Sting, Kevin Nash, Booker T, and Scott Steiner.
Despite Tomko not being a main eventer, TNA had plans for him to join the group according to Angle, who said he was surprised to see Tomko leave. He added,
“Yes [I was surprised]. I don’t know if it was the money or if he was interested in going over to Japan. I wasn’t sure why he decided to leave, but he was gonna be in a good spot if he would have stayed. I was really surprised that he left.”
Tomko was with TNA Wrestling from 2006 to 2008 and served as the henchman of Christian Cage for much of his run.
Angle recently spoke in-depth about the faction, including trying to get fans to boo Sting. You can check out his comments by clicking here.
