It is time for another week of the Ultimate Power Rankings from both WWE and AEW. Who improved their stock from last week and who downgraded their position among the rest?
This set ranges from Monday (July 3) and to this Sunday (July 9). This means that all the results and highlights from this week’s Raw, NXT, AEW Dynamite, SmackDown, and AEW Collision will play a factor in where each superstar places on the rankings.
If a wrestler has a (+) next to their name, then that means that they moved up the rankings from last week’s edition. When there is a (-) next to their name, then that means that they moved down from the rankings from last week. If there is nothing next to their name, then that means that they stayed at the same spot.
The Intercontinental Champion went face-to-face with his presumed next challenger for his title, Drew McIntyre on Raw this week.
The new tag team champions not only figured out who their next challengers would be, but one-half of them, Rodriguez, is being looked at as a potential opponent for Rhea Ripley’s Women’s World Championship for SummerSlam.
Green and Deville ran the gauntlet from start to finish in order to be the #1 contenders to the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
It was an off week for Hayes, though the NXT Champion will find out who he’s facing at Great American Bash between the winner of Bron Breakker and Ilja Dragunov on next week’s NXT.
Ms. Money in the Bank teased a cash-in on Asuka this week at SmackDown, however she was intercepted by Bianca Belair, keeping her precious briefcase on her for another day.
Theory retained his WWE United States Championship against Sheamus on SmackDown, a match WWE fans were expecting a possible title change to happen. The uninspired second reign by Theory is now approaching 230 days.
The Usos along with the rest of The Bloodline took part in an incredible segment that lasted 45 minutes all together on SmackDown. Whilst Jimmy Uso was storyline taken away from the equation, Jey Uso challenged “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns to a match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Owens and Zayn were not featured this week, though the overly popular tag team champions figure to be a part of SummerSlam.
The World Heavyweight Champion beat Dominik Mysterio by disqualification on Raw, before being almost cashed in on by Damian Priest.
The Judgment Day continue to be a major force on WWE TV. Priest defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and Rhea Ripley successfully retained her championship in a hard-fought match against Natalya. Though tensions are rising between Priest and Finn Balor as the latter cost Priest a chance at cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on Rollins.
Despite losing in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Joe put his opponent CM Punk to sleep to end the night on Collision.
The TBS Champion was inactive this week, a much-deserved break after multiple title defenses in a row by the improved superstar.
Jay White and Juice Robinson scored a win over the AEW Tag Team Champions, FTR, on Collision. The win catapults Bullet Club Gold to the top contenders for the tag team crown.
It is now time to give Ruby Soho some mention, which is why the 3-person stable of The Outcasts will now be included going forward. Toni Storm is still the AEW Women’s World Champion and Soho has advanced to the semifinals of the Owen Hart Tournament, defeating her rival and last year’s winner of the tournament, Britt Baker.
Cole and his forced together tag partner MJF defeated Matt Menard and The Blade to advance. The two also had a funny segment after the match with MJF celebrating Cole’s birthday with a cake. Cole still looks primed to get a match for MJF’s title in the near future, possibly at All Out.
Starks is moving on to the finals of the Owen Hart Cup, defeating his old tag team partner Powerhouse Hobbs on Collision.
Kenny Omega picked up a win over Wheeler Yuta in the main event of Dynamite, though Adam Page and The Young Bucks didn’t fare as well in a match with The Dark Order, due to interference from the Blackpool Combat Club.
Punk is going to the finals in the Owen Hart Cup, after getting his first ever true victory over Samoa Joe in the main event of Collision.
The AEW World Champion picked up a victory teaming with Adam Cole. Despite the team being a good twist in the storyline, it is very much expected that this partnership will lead to a match for the title and more than likely, being because of MJF’s doing in the blind tag team tournament.
Speaking of the blind tag team tournament, the International Champion is teamed with Darby Allin, and the duo advanced by defeating former tag team champions Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland.
