While AEW Collision has only been around for four weeks now, its ratings continue to drop on what is traditionally known as an incredibly tough night to draw big numbers with TV viewership.
According to a report from Fightful Select, several sources at Warner Bros. Discovery are well of the fact that Saturday night is a tough draw. Additionally, they are said to be more interested in the show’s rankings compared to other shows in the same timeslot than the actual raw numbers. Multiple people say they expect Collision to rank highly for the night, similar to how AEW Dynamite has done on Wednesday nights on the TBS network. It was also noted that the network would consider a top 5 ranking to be a huge success. With that being said, you can check out the ratings for the first three episodes of AEW Collision below. The final numbers for Saturday night’s fourth episode of Collision won’t be out until Tuesday:
June 17th: 0.33 demo rating (816,000 viewers) – #3 among cable shows.
June 24th: 0.21 demo rating (595,000 viewers)- #5 among cable shows.
July 1st: 0.13 demo rating (452,000 viewers) – #15 among cable shows. This was a taped show.
Finally, it was noted that Warner Bros. Discovery knows that AEW Collision will face extremely tough competition in the fall against college football. The show also went up against the UFC pre-lims on ESPN this week, which is likely to hurt the numbers. It’s really going to depend on the week and the numbers are likely to fluctuate with more/less competition. AEW Collision’s performance is also expected to be a big factor in AEW potentially getting a new rights deal. Talks remain ongoing between the two sides.
