The ‘Bloodline Civil War’ at WWE Money in the Bank 2023 featured several callbacks to the classic and iconic moments in Roman Reigns’ title reign that has spanned over 1000 years, as well as The Bloodline Saga.
In what can only be described as poetic justice, Jey Uso pinned Roman Reigns in a shocking conclusion following multiple tandem superkicks and a Samoan Splash to become the first person to pin/submit Roman Reigns in almost four years. The last time Reigns was pinned was at TLC 2019, against Baron Corbin.
Reigns was even seen breaking down during the match after being unable to keep his cousins down despite everything he tried.
The match saw callbacks to Reigns pinning Edge and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania, which The Tribal Chief had tweeted earlier today. Except, The Usos shockingly kicked out of the ‘Spear-Samoan Spike’ tandem maneuver. The match also featured Jey Uso low-blowing Reigns while kicking out of his pinfall attempt, reminiscent to what Reigns had first done to Jey himself at Clash of Champions 2020.
Jey Uso has done what the likes of Cody Rhodes, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Edge, Daniel Bryan, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Finn Balor and more have not been able to accomplish over the past three years.
