The Young Bucks Explain How Chris Jericho & Dean Malenko Have Helped AEW Dynamite Backstage
The Young Bucks were on today’s episode of SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio. On it, they discussed how helpful Dean Malenko and Chris Jericho have been as to making AEW Dynamite a better show. “[It’s a team effort] but Chris Jericho has definitely given the most pointers to us, individually,” said Nick Jackson. “Because he’s been doing it so long and he’s given us tips on how to make things work perfectly. He knows what he’s talking about and is so smart. He’s taught us the most with timing things.”
Matt Jackson also chimed in by explaining how helpful it is to have these experienced guys in the back. “I think the way to stay on top in wrestling is to never stop learning,” said Jackson. “To have a guy like Dean Malenko, it’s so great to have their minds to pick. Sometimes we’ll be at the go position and I’ll watch how Dean produces the segment and just listen to him … he knows exactly when to time things. Chris Jericho is the master of these things, he told Nick the other day that if you have a 13 minute match then plan a kickass 13 minute match. Let’s not worry too much about the breaks and [doing a house show dive]. We don’t want to fall into doing the same thing every week and [be formulaic]. We’re trying to find our sweet spot.”
