Backstage News On Sting Going Through A Table At Forbidden Door II
– ADVERTISMENT –

Sting, Darby Allin & Naito defeated Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara & Minoru Suzuki in a trios tag team match at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door II pay-per-view event.

During the match, Sammy Guevara tried to put Sting through a table and did so as Sting didn’t get away in time and took a partial bump through the table.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Sting was supposed to move out of the way of the table bump, but didn’t. He wrote,

“Guevara was to do a 630 off the top rope onto a table Sting was on. It looked, and was confirmed to us, that the idea was for Sting to move and Guevara to crash through the table himself and be taken out. But Sting didn’t move fast enough, just moving enough to be on his side when he got hit. Since Sting was to be involved in the finish with a big comeback, he got up from being put through the table, not selling it and did what was planned, which included a finish where Sting gave Suzuki a lariat and Naito did a running jackknife cradle for the pin.
