Jim Ross called the main event of last Saturday’s AEW Collision episode alongside Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness.
Earlier that day, the legendary announcer suffered a fall, resulting in him suffering a black eye.
Coming out of the show, Ross apologized for his performance, something heavily criticized by fans, and noted he was stepping away to heal.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ross believed he suffered a concussion from the fall.
“Nobody said much more past he believed he had suffered a concussion from the fall but he’s got that mentality regarding work. He wanted to work through his recent painful skin cancer treatments although wasn’t able to for a time but came back immediately after the treatments were over even though he hadn’t recovered from them,” Meltzer wrote.
