Hiroshi Tanahashi, anticipating an eventful summer, is gearing up for a significant challenge. He is slated to face MJF for the AEW World Title at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II, despite MJF’s claims of not showing up. Tanahashi’s previous attempt at capturing the Interim AEW World Title at Forbidden Door 2022 ended in defeat against Jon Moxley.

In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports (via DeepL translation), Tanahashi shared his thoughts on the upcoming match and more.

“My Wembley debut is coming soon. I will prove that I am the first Japanese to win a title match and main event at Wembley in 100 years. I haven’t left my name in the history books yet, so I will start from here. Winning the belt in the U.S., winning the G1, and the main event at Wembley. It’s all set up nicely. It’s Mr. Blueprint,” he said with a laugh.

As one of the 32 participants in the NJPW G1 Climax 33, Tanahashi will embark on the annual tournament starting on July 15.
