Today marks Roman Reigns 435 days as WWE Champion, surpassing CM Punk’s 434-day reign to become the longest reigning WWE Champion of ‘the modern era.’ While he continues to hold the Universal Championship for over 1000 days.
At 435 days, Reigns is now the longest-reigning WWE Champion since Hulk Hogan (1,474 days). He will need to hold the WWE Championship for almost 600 days more to cross Pedro Morales (1,027 days), which is indeed amusing because as far as any ‘World Championship’ promoted by WWE is concerned, Reigns will surpass Morales’ reign this month, having held the Universal Championship for a mammoth 1,016 days. His Universal Championship reign too is the longest ‘World Championship’ reign since Hogan’s aforementioned reign.
For context, here are the longest World Championship reigns in WWE history.
As far CM Punk is concerned, we are less than a week away from his return on the premiere episode of AEW Collision on Saturday, June 17, from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
