Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.
So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!
The design itself is fine. I’m not the absolute biggest fan of that particular gold backing, but, again, I’m one of those defenders that the WWE Championship design as a whole right now is fantastic, so I like that it doesn’t deviate from that.
But why does it say Undisputed Championship on it, and is called the Women’s Championship? That should only work if there’s just one women’s champion. That means we now have two undisputed champions while there’s another champion on the opposite brand.
They’re making this all messed up and creating problems with the other title’s design and name. Nothing they do will fully make sense. But I’m anticipating they’ll rename that the Women’s WORLD Championship to coincide with Raw having the World Heavyweight Championship.
I would have just had them swap the belts and kept the Raw and SmackDown names. But, then again, I would have had Roman Reigns drop the WWE Championship and only keep the Universal Championship, and not had this World Heavyweight Championship on the side, either, so clearly, my vision of these titles differs from WWE, who can’t decide on what the word “undisputed” means.
But they also have to fix the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships, too.
At least they’re going to unify the women’s tag titles. NXT didn’t need those.
I watch NXT every week anyway, so I’m not the target audience. However, I think these are smart moves. The more that NXT gets integrated and crosses over with Raw and SmackDown, the more casual fans will have it on their minds. If you take main roster talent and put them on NXT, there’s a chance more people will watch, too. Smart moves.
Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker will do more for the NXT ratings than it will serve a purpose on Monday Night Raw if they were to have the match there, as well. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler wrestling on that show once they unify the tag titles will also give it a boost on those nights.
Not really. I understand that there’s an element of respect there that used to be the norm, but I also think old school tactics aren’t necessarily things you need to keep 100% baked into the society just because. Plenty people use the same finisher. An army gimmick, as well, is super generic. If it were a more specific moniker or something—like if someone started to call themselves “The Undertaker”—that would be more egregious. But is everyone reaching out to Jake Roberts to use the DDT as a regular move? I don’t think so.
But I still don’t think this version of the Lacey Evans character is going to work to begin with. They’ve tried it something like 4 times and they keep just taking her off television after a few weeks, rendering it a start and stop.
