Tony Schiavone Discusses Hulk Hogan Jumping Ship From WWE To WCW

AEW commentator Tony Schiavone admits that he was surprised when Hulk Hogan joined WCW back in 1994.

Speaking on the latest edition of his “What Happened When” podcast for AdFreeShows, Schiavone opined on the Hulkster “jumping ship” from WWE to WCW and why it was a gamechanger for WCW at the time. He said,

“I didn’t think anyone up there wanted to come down here. I do remember this, I’m thinking ‘Boy, they would like a lot of our guys because they could probably make something out of them, make them a good character or something. But nobody would want to come down here because that would be a big step down.’ So that was my feeling back then.”
