Carmelo Hayes Credits Shawn Michaels With His Barbershop Segments In WWE NXT

During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes reflected on his barbershop segments in WWE NXT and credited SVP Of Talent Development & Creative Shawn Michaels with the unique idea.

Hayes will defend the NXT Title against Bron Breakker this Sunday at NXT Battleground.

Carmelo Hayes on Shawn Michaels coming up with the barbershop segments: “That was Shawn. He was looking for another opportunity to get us on TV where we weren’t just cutting promos in the middle of the ring.”

On being able to showcase his personality with the segments: “And it felt true to us. Also it felt true to the culture in a way.”

On crediting Shawn Michaels with the barbershop segments: “You can get so much across in two minutes and then throw that on TV. We got a lot out of that. That was all Shawn, I gotta give him credit for that.”
