Bull Buchanan Recalls His WWE Run With John Cena, Jacob Fatu On Potentially Signing With WWE

Bull Buchanan had a short-lived tag team run alongside John Cena as B-2, and he recently reflected on the gimmick in a recent appearance on the “Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling” podcast.

Buchanan played the B-2 gimmick from November 2002 to December 2003.

On being able to do different gimmicks: “You’ve got to be able to adapt because sometimes things don’t work. The thing with the Boss Man wasn’t a stretch, it was easy to really be myself. With Right to Censor, I always had the idea in mind of a Southern Baptist preacher. With John, that was just purely fun. It was really cool because I knew John from OVW, and I’d actually met him during his tryout matches.”

On being given the B-2 gimmick: “For me, it was something new. I wouldn’t say it was comical, but it got people to go, ‘Oh that’s a stretch. I don’t know if that fits him.’ It was my job to make it work.”

On the gimmick coming to an end early: “I was surprised when they broke me and John off. That was a bit of a writing on the wall moment [for my WWE future]. I figured they had nothing else for me and this might be drawing to an end. I thought John and I had a good thing going. John didn’t really need me, he was about to blow up anyway. But I thought we could have milked it [the storyline] a little more.”

In other news, MLW star Jacob Fatu is a proud member of the Anoa’i family, and he recently discussed the possibility of joining WWE as part of The Bloodline.

Appearing on the “Bullet Cast” podcast, Fatu addressed a potential WWE run in the future. He said,

“I’ll leave it in God’s hands.”

Fatu also acknowledged that several fans want him to join WWE sooner rather than later. The MLW star continued,

“They do, and I appreciate that. The grind is, you do the hard work where nobody can see it. I appreciate them and I appreciate everyone talking good about me because, my mother-in-law always says this, ‘truth should come to the light.’ The truth is definitely coming to the light because it’s all the hard work. Everything in the back that people don’t see. We’re here with the students, you appreciate the hard work that goes into this. I appreciate the fans saying that.

“Do I want to be there? Yeah, absolutely, but then again, I didn’t expect to be at MLW this long. It’s really in God’s hands. I’m thankful for it. I watch my brothers every day. Like Roman and my brothers say, they always call and tap in. They can say this and that about the family. Everyone is human. I love what they’re doing. That feeling of what they’re doing is real. If you ask me, it’s God’s timing. I’m going to leave it at that. There ain’t no telling.”
