Drew McIntyre blacked out his Twitter profile and removed all WWE references from his profile yesterday. The Scottish Warrior didn’t appear on WWE SmackDown last night.
McIntyre’s WWE contract is up this year and the former WWE Champion plans on waiting until closer to the expiration date to sign a new contract as there are several ‘factors’ for him to consider. The two sides are said to be ‘far apart’ on a new deal at this point.
Pwinsider is reporting that McIntyre was actually conducting several local interviews over the past week to promote the latest edition of WWE SmackDown in Lincoln, Nebraska. The former WWE Universal Champion was scheduled at one point to appear on the show. As a matter of fact, The Pinnacle Bank Arena also had McIntyre’s promotional image for yesterday’s SmackDown taping.
McIntyre has not wrestled since losing the WWE Intercontinental Title Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 39 (Night 2).
