Booker T: Carmelo Hayes & Bron Breakker ‘Walked’ Through Their NXT Title Match

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has admitted to being underwhelmed by the NXT Championship match at the recent Stand & Deliver event.

At the April 1, show, Carmelo Hayes dethroned Bron Breakker to become the new NXT Champion, marking Hayes’ first reign with the gold.

On his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker spoke about feeling that the two men did not deliver all they could have in the ring. He said,

“Did they go out there and perform? Yes, they did but I just thought they [were] walking their way through it [as] opposed to trying to feel their way through it … I thought they did a good job, but on a scale of one to ten, I give it a six.”

Despite his criticism, the NXT commentator added that he enjoyed having a front-row seat for the match and for Breakker’s heel turn on the following episode of NXT.
