MVP made an appearance on Cool Kicks to discuss a wide range of topics.
During it, he was asked if he had any advice for young wrestlers trying to make it in the business, as he has found a lot of success in his long career.
“I say this, man, as somebody who came up rough, impoverished background. I spent nine and a half years in prison. I lived all of that rough life,” MVP said, “and then I decided I wanted to become a professional wrestler. I put my heart and soul into it. I made sacrifices, and I had a laser beam-like focus. My philosophy was I wasn’t going to allow anyone to tell me what I could or could not do.
“There were people that said, ‘Hey, how’s that wrestling thing working out for you,’ mocking me. Now those people, their kids play with my action figures.” MVP added, “So if you believe in yourself, you can accomplish virtually anything you want to do, but you have to have a laser beam-like focus. You have to make the sacrifices, live it, eat it, sleep it, drink it, and I’ll see you at the top.”
