AEW’s Brian Cage Reportedly Working Without A Contract

Brian Cage is a free agent after signing with AEW in 2020.

Fightful Select reports Cage’s deal with AEW expired at midnight following ROH Supercard of Honor where The Embassy (Cage, Kaun, and Toa Liona) retained their Six-Man Tag Team Titles over AR Fox, Blake Christian, and Metalik.

Cage is currently working without a contract while the two sides continue to talk. AEW has offered him a long-term deal and attempted to get him to sign a short-term extension, but he hasn’t put pen to paper. 

The two sides remain in talks. Some people in AEW have pushed for him to sign a new deal with the promotion, while there are other members of the WWE roster who are hoping he’d sign with the company.
