Hager, who was supported by many of his Inner Circle teammates, fought Anthony Garrett at Bellator 231. He wasted little time ramming his opponent into the fence and then started landing some nice knees. However, one went low and the fight was temporarily stopped due to the illegal groin strike. Once the fight was restarted, Hager hit Garrett in the groin again and the fight was stopped again. Garrett fell to the ground and was unable to continue.
