Is a fully-fledged heel turn the only way to salvage CM Punk’s career as an All Elite Wrestling star?
The two-time former AEW World Champion has been absent from programming since the infamous All Out pay-per-view event, and his future with the company remains uncertain.
While some names in AEW are reportedly fighting to prevent Punk’s return, fans have suggested that Punk coming back is a must to turn around the company’s ratings woes.
Speaking on the K100 podcast, Konnan had an idea as to how Punk could return. He said,
“[What if] he came back, MJF’s a heel, but if he came back and got that championship by cheating, and just went into full heel mode? I think, you know, he could be somebody again.”
Punk is expected to be fully healed from the torn triceps injury he suffered during All Out within a matter of months.
The former World Champion was spotted at NJPW Battle in the Valley last weekend in San Jose, California.
