AWA Alum Kenny ‘Jay’ Benkowski Passes Away Aged 85 825670622 173 The wrestling world is grieving the loss of Kenny ‘‘ Jay’Benkowski, who has actually passed away at the age of 85. A routine of the AWA, Benkowski would mostly work as improvement skill, sharing the ring with the similarity Mad Dog Vachon, The Crusher, Verne Gagne, and Jesse Ventura. At one point, Benkowski dealt with boxing icon Muhammad Ali, ahead of Ali’s famous boxing vs. wrestling match with Antonio Inoki in June 1976. Outside the ring, Benkowski was a football possibility in high school, and took a break not long after his wrestling training started in 1958 to serve in the U.S. armed force. After retiring in 1985, Benkowski would go back to the ring in 1990 and would battle sometimes in the 1990s and 2000s prior to retiring for great in 2012.
