Pat McAfee Addresses WWE Return At The 2023 Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View Event

Former NFL professional athlete and WWE broadcaster Pat McAfee made his surprise return at Saturday night’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view occasion in San Antonio, TX.

McAfee started appearing on WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown for over a year beginning in April 2021. On September 7, 2022, WWE revealed that McAfee would be taking a hiatus from SmackDown for the foreseeable future in order to sign up with ESPN’s College GameDay, and would return as soon as he’s through with the job.

Following his look at the Royal Rumble, McAfee required to Twitter to reveal his feelings and thanked the WWE Universe for the big standing ovation. He stayed on commentary for the whole 4+ hour Royal Rumble pay-per-view occasion along with Michael Cole and Corey Graves. McAfee composed:

“That was incredible. Huge thank you to the folks of the WWE Universe that remained in that AlamoDome. I’ll keep in mind that “hey there” permanently. Grateful to be back this evening. shahtaht @MichaelCole & & @WWEGraves GREAT to see the WWE household backstage once again I’ve missed out on everybody.”
