Josh Alexander knows exactly who he’s facing at Bound For Glory on Saturday night.

Josh Alexander recently spoke with Jon Alba for the premiere of AdFreeShows.com‘s One on One interview series and went into detail about the opportunity he has in front of him at Bound For Glory. Alexander will challenge Christian Cage for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship, and he explained what went into the decision about cashing in on “Option C” and facing Christian now.

“This is what goes into why ‘Option C’ happened at this time, I think. Not only has my career progressed to a point where now I’ve been in it for 16 years, and I look at it like opportunities don’t come all of the time, so maybe I should take this one now. The reason I’m taking this one now for the IMPACT World Championship is the person that is holding that IMPACT World Championship is not only a legend in IMPACT Wrestling, but a legend in this business,” Alexander said. “He is going to be a Hall Of Famer, there’s no doubt about it. So, if I can get in there and test myself against him in the main event of the biggest show in IMPACT Wrestling history, that only sweetens the deal if I can rise to the occasion and call myself IMPACT World Champion when it’s all said and done.”

Asked to assess Christian’s return after the seven-year layoff, Josh Alexander said Christian looks like he hasn’t missed a beat and he’s preparing for a champion that’s still just as good as he was in his first run.

“I wouldn’t even say there’s rust from the first time I saw him. I mean, I watched that Kenny Omega match closely, [the August 13 match on AEW Rampage] where he was able to win the IMPACT World Championship. It looked like Christian stepped out of a time machine from 20 years ago and stepped right into the ring with him,” Alexander explained, “so I know exactly what to expect when I get in the ring with Christian at Bound For Glory because I’ve been lucky that I’ve been able to watch him my entire career but I’m definitely not getting and older, slower version of Christian, I’m getting the same Christian that is in his prime. He’s ageless.”

During the conversation, Josh Alexander was also asked about his level of interest in walking through the “forbidden door” as a tag team wrestler to reunite with Ethan Page. You can read his explanation about why it’s not even a thought (…unless it happens under certain circumstances) at this link.
