AEW Dynamite Was Cable’s #1 Program This Week; Tony Khan Calls It A ‘Major Triumph’ For The Promotion
AEW Dynamite scored a major win on Wednesday night.
AEW Dynamite was last night’s #1 overall program on cable among the key 18-49 demographic, a first-time achievement for the upstart wrestling promotion. TNT issued a new press release touting the ratings achievement, as well as Dynamite continuing to have the “youngest wrestling audience on television.”
Wednesday’s broadcast, highlighted by the “Blood & Guts” match, also averaged 1.1M Total Viewers, up 18% from last week. The series has also reached 19.1M viewers so far this year.
Tony Khan, CEO, GM and Head of Creative of AEW said: “Being No. 1 in the ratings for the first time is a major triumph for AEW and a tribute to our talent and staff, everyone at TNT, and above all else our loyal fans and viewers, all of whom make it possible for us to bring wrestling to homes around the world every Wednesday night. With fans making a safe return in force to support our live shows, and our matches and stories becoming more explosive every week, the best of ‘AEW: Dynamite’ is ahead!”
AEW: DYNAMITE on TNT airs Wednesday nights from 8-10 pm ET. Next week’s show will see Jon Moxley will defend his IWGP US Championship against Yuji Nagata, and Miro will also challenge Darby Allin for the TNT Championship.
