MSK has taken the WWE Universe by storm in 2021, but they don’t take all of the credit for their recent successes.
The NXT Tag-Team Champions, Wes Lee and Nash Carter AKA ‘MSK’ recently appeared on Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltman’s “Pro Wrestling 4-Life” podcast and talked about what it’s like to work in the WWE system and who’s helped them along the way.
On what it’s like having so many creative minds help
“It’s like taking a dream team, taking the minds of them and just open it all up and making them available to you for your picking,” said Wes Lee. “Now, it’s up to you to implement those things and actually make them effective but the information’s there. Everyone’s so willing to help and wants the best out of you.”
“If you don’t grow here as a performer, then it’s on you,” Nash Carter added. “If you cannot absorb this knowledge and level up and level up and level up, you’re not doing it.”
“A lot of it is done subconsciously, just going through your reps and stuff like that and at some point in time, it just gets to the point where what they’re trying to hammer into your mind, just sticks without you really even thinking about it and it becomes your second nature,” Lee continued. “It’s great, it’s just great…it makes me want to jump up!”
On who specifically has helped them continue to grow, outside of Triple H and Shawn Michaels:
“Being able to get a little bit of tag-team knowledge from Scotty 2 Hotty, that’s incredible,” said Carter. “Being able to see how to change gears from Finlay is absolutely incredible and just like seeing the nature of the business and how things grow from Terry Taylor, it’s such a unique thing.”
“It is such a unique thing and everyone has an area of expertise and they have their way of delivering it to everyone because everyone learns in a different way but they know how to make it presentable for everyone to accept it,” Lee added. “Again, it all depends on you.”
