AEW Revolution Broke The Company’s PPV Buys Record, Generated $5 Million In Revenue
AEW Revolution will be remembered as a controversial pay-per-view, but it will also go down as one of AEW’s most successful events.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics estimates that the show produced 125,000 buys and generated over $5 million in revenue.
These numbers aren’t official, but they do indicate that AEW Revolution broke the company’s pay-per-view record. AEW Double or Nothing 2020 marked the promotion’s previous high with roughly 105,000 buys.
According to Thurston’s report, AEW’s pay-per-views have fluctuated, in terms of their financial success. Revolution’s two predecessors, All Out and Full Gear, marked consecutive declines, but monetarily speaking, Revolution was quite a success.
The show generated a lot of buzz, even before it began. The Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match and the tease of a Hall of Fame level talent likely encouraged hardcore and casual fans alike to tune in.
