Very sad news this morning as Road Warrior Animal (real name Joseph Laurinaitis) has passed away at the age of 60.
Hulk Hogan was the first person to make the announcement via social media. There is no word as to the cause of his passing but Laurinaitis’ Twitter account just released a statement confirming the news.
“At this time, we would like to confirm the passing of Joseph Laurinaitis aka Road Warrior Animal at the age of 60. The family is planning to release a statement later today. At this time we ask for you to keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers. #OhWhatARush“

Being a member of The Road Warriors, Animal and Hawk grew to be arguably the most popular and mainstream tag teams in the history of pro wrestling. Finding their beginning in Georgia Championship Wrestling, Animal & Hawk cut their swath all throughout major wrestling territories including AWA, All Japan and Jim Crockett Promotions before landing in WWF for two years in 1990. He and Hawk along with manager Paul Ellering were inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2011.
We here at WrestleZone would like to extend our deepest thoughts, prayers and condolences to the family, friends and fans of Mr. Laurinaitis at this time.
