This week on WWE RAW, Keith Lee faced WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in a main event with significant ramifications. If Lee defeated McIntyre, he would earn a WWE Championship match at WWE Clash of Champions, if Randy Orton is unable to compete. The two competitors, who are friends, brawled backstage when they got into an argument about McIntyre’s interference in Lee’s matches. Early in this bout, Lee gained the upper hand and sent McIntyre out of the ring by bowling him over.

Lee dropped McIntyre with a shot to his injured jaw. The champion took Lee down with a clothesline and rocked him with a headbutt. McIntyre threw Lee over his head and took him down with a diving clothesline. Lee countered a Future Shock DDT, but McIntyre slammed him with a spinebuster. Lee chopped McIntyre’s chest and hit him with a clothesline. A superplex earned Lee a two count. McIntyre countered the Spirit Bomb, but a simultaneous crossbody took both men down. Retribution surrounded the ring and attacked both competitors, so the march ended in a no contest.
