AJ Styles Reveals His Mount Rushmore Of Wrestlers

They call him “The Phenomenal One”, but who does AJ Styles consider phenomenal? In a recent interview with The Sun, WWE’s current Intercontinental Champion broke down who he thought deserved a placement on the as of yet theoretical Mt. Rushmore of professional wrestling. It’s a question that he struggles with, but he eventually settles on four options, although he admits that he could change them if asked again at a different point in time. Here they are along with his reasoning:
- Ric Flair, as he’s “the reason why so many guys and girls get the opportunity to make a living.”
- Lou Thesz for his legendary status in Japan
- Hulk Hogan for his roles outside of wrestling bring people to the sport
- Andre The Giant for his similar breakout appeal
Styles goes through a host of runners-up, including everyone from Jake “The Snake” Roberts to Randy Savage to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. The wrestler doesn’t seem sure of his choices by the end of the interview, finishing things off with a question. “There’s so many things about wrestling that made up these moments that you remember but who are the ones that changed it forever?”
