WWE Has Nixed Shayna Baszler’s Plans All Year

It looks like WWE Superstar Shayna Baszler has gotten the short end of the stick ever since moving up from NXT.

Every time creative plans something solely for Shayna, it has been scrapped and thrown away. Shayna even disappeared completely from WWE for two months after Money In The Bank. She did not have COVID-19, she was not injured, and she was not frustrated. Simply put, creative did not have anything for her.

Fightful is reporting on some of the original plans that were in store for Shayna this year. Here are just a few things that originally were slated for Shayna that did not go her way:

  • Shayna was scheduled to win the Royal Rumble, but it was changed to Charlotte literally hours before the match.
  • Shayna was supposed to defeat Becky Lynch for the championship at WrestleMania, but Vince McMahon did not want that to happen with no fans in attendance. Becky Lynch reportedly still pushed for Shayna to win, but that did not happen.
  • There was a pitch for Shayna to win the MITB match, which was changed to Asuka prior to the match happening.

It is important to note that there was no backstage heat on Shayna and she did not do anything wrong to lose these spots. Circumstances and backstage decisions are the main reasons why Shayna has still largely been irrelevant on RAW. She did finally return to RAW last week, attacking Akira Tozawa’s ninjas and calling out the entire women’s division on RAW.
