Sheamus Defeats Jeff Hardy In Competitive Match At WWE Backlash

At WWE Backlash, the heated rivalry between Jeff Hardy and Sheamus came to a head, as the superstars faced off in the ring. Sheamus took the fight to Hardy and overpowered him early on. Hardy gained some momentum by targeting Sheamus’ leg. A dropkick sent Sheamus to the floor and Hardy dove off the steps to gain more momentum. Hardy picked up the ring steps, but he put them down. Sheamus regained control of the match. A diving knee-drop earned Sheamus a two count. Two backbreakers earned Sheamus another two count. The Celtic Warrior grounded Hardy and continued to dominate the match.

Hardy rallied and hit Whisper in the Wind for a near fall. Sheamus countered a Twist of Fate into a roll-up for a near fall. Hardy reversed a Brogue Kick and hit a slingblade. Hardy fell off the top rope, and Sheamus hit White Noise for a near fall. Hardy dropped Sheamus with a Twist of Fate and a Swanton Bomb almost earned Hardy the win, but Sheamus got his foot on the rope. Sheamus rocked Hardy with a mid-air Brogue Kick on the outside. Another Brogue Kick earned Sheamus the victory.
