Adam Copeland may be getting ready for the “””Greatest Match Of All Time TM””” at Backlash, but that doesn’t mean that professional wrestling is his sole focus. In his time away from WWE, he’s jumped into the acting scene with notable roles in The History Channel’s Vikings and The Flash on CW. Today, it was announced that his next acting role is across from Kelsey Grammer in a direct to video action movie harkening back to the genre’s glory days.
Quiver Distribution will release “Money Plane” on digital distribution platforms on July 10. Directed by Andrew Lawrence, the action film (which also stars Denise Richards and Thomas Jane) follows Edge’s Jack Reese, a thief heavily in debt who’s pulled into an underground world led by kingpin Darius Emmanuel Grouch, played by Grammer. Reese will need to use his thieving skills to empty out a futuristic air casino filled with dangerous criminals.
Speaking with Deadline as they broke the story, Quiver co-president Berry Meyerowitz had this to say about their new release: “Money Plane is the perfect thrill ride for all of us cooped up at home. We look forward to bringing to audiences this fun and exciting throwback to the great action movies of the 90’s.”
