Recently, it has been reported that WWE has banned the use of the Buckle Bomb after a series of injuries throughout the years. Speaking on SirisXM’s Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray commented on the move, and said that it was being done to protect the talent of the company.
“Do I agree with a move being banned? I’m not quite sure,” he said. “What I do agree with is the WWE is trying to protect their talent, that’s what I agree with. Because whether it’s somebody giving it or taking it, enough things have gone wrong with this move, it doesn’t matter who we point the finger of blame on…right off the bat, the chances for something to go wrong are very high.”
Ray went on to say that the reason the move is so dangerous is due to the unknown aspect of it. The people doing the move don’t know where they are throwing someone, and the person taking the move don’t know how to anticipate for the landing. “The person doing it is not going to throw from the exact some spot every single time, the person taking it is not going to land the exact same way every single time.”
