This Week’s WWE Backstage Viewership Wasn’t As Bad As Everyone Thought

The glass is half-full—WWE Backstage didn’t draw a series low in viewership for the first-run show this week.

Earlier this week, ShowBuzz Daily reported the March 3 episode of the show, featuring Jeff Hardy’s return and JBL’s WWE Hall Of Fame announcement, drew a series low 18,000 overnight viewers. According to a report from PWInsider.com, that initial number was a mistake, as it was the totals for the 11 pm PST second airing of the show and not the first run which aired at 11 pm EST.

This week’s show first run ended up drawing 56,000 total viewers, a much better number that initially reported but it’s still a low number for the series’ run. This week’s total viewership was the lowest the show has brought in since the regular series premiere on November 5; the “preview” episodes brought in 597,000 and 426,000 viewers, while CM Punk’s first official appearance marked a high for regular broadcast with 180,000 viewers.
