In his role at AEW, Sonjay Dutt is functioning as both the on-screen manager for Satnam Singh and a behind-the-scenes producer. Dutt disclosed how he ended up in this dual function during an interview with Mike Jones on a recent podcast.

The key points from his podcast interview are summarized below:

When discussing how he became Singh’s manager, Dutt revealed: “Tony Khan proposed this proposition to [me], asking, ‘Would you be interested in managing your best friend and this 7-foot-4-inch Indian giant?’ I was shocked, mainly because we had earlier agreed upon the fact that I wasn’t a performer anymore; my value was as a producer. However, Khan saw it differently, and I’m grateful for his ability to think out of the box and his initiative in bringing the three of us together. It has been quite a ride over the past two years, transitioning from an active in-ring performer to the current manager position I hold.”

Regarding other talents that work with Singh, Dutt expressed: “Satnam is incredibly lucky to have someone like Paul Wight in our locker room who’s really taken to him. Satnam is receiving a unique blend of guidance and insights from a wealth of experienced veterans. He’s really absorbing it all. Jeff [Jarrett] has been particularly supportive, introducing him to the live performance side of professional wrestling – the independent circuits with their tough schedules and hustle, which he hasn’t encountered before but we have.”
