WWE pre-recorded the New Year’s Eve special for NXT TV on December 19, information regarding this event has been provided by Fightful, which obtained some behind-the-scenes insights from the taping that happened the previous week.
During these tapings, Wrestler Shotzi actively participated and was part of a matchup that was informally referred to as “New Year’s Eve” within the organization.
Shotzi collaborated with her team-mate Gigi Dolin in an exciting Triple Threat Tag Team Match. Their competitors were Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson, and the team of Kayden Carter and Katana Chance.
Despite a scary moment where Shotzi had a landing that was eerily similar to “Lita”, after performing a suicide dive, there were no subsequent complaints of injury at the time. She bravely completed the match without displaying any additional complications.
Moreover, during the same NXT tapings, a solitary competition resulted in Kelani Jordan triumphing over Lola Vice. After the contest, Cora Jade made an attempt to assault Vice using a Kendo Stick, which was foiled by the timely intervention of Stephanie Vaquer.
Various speculations were doing the rounds on social media suggesting that Vice might be promoted to the primary roster, due to this particular outcome. However, Fightful has denied such intent of writing Vice off of NXT, explaining that this story was envisaged to set the stage for her upcoming rivalries.
Lastly, the Dion Lennox versus Ashante Thee Adonis match that was broadcast on this week’s program was originally proposed as a mixed tag team match prominently featuring Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons.
