In the latest episode of his “Extreme Life” podcast, Matt Hardy shared his reaction to the incident involving Eddie Edwards who slapped a fan during the TNA Final Resolution 2024 event. The event, according to Hardy, was a whirlwind of emotions and reactions that are worth revisiting.

Focusing on the unexpected interaction between Edwards and a fan, Hardy narrated: “As Brian and I lay inside the ring, a violent fight unfolded between with Eddie and Jeff outside the ring. The audiences were stirred up, chanting ‘Fk the System', repeatedly. Amid this, a different chant began, 'You fked up.’ We were puzzled at this sudden change, unaware of the situation brewing. As it turned out, a brave – or foolish – individual taunted Eddie, questioning his toughness. The individual slapped Eddie, who instinctively slapped back and pushed him back into his seat.

“It’s almost a miracle that the man wasn’t knocked out cold by Eddie Edwards, known for his powerful and swift swings. Security rushed to the scene, followed by Dreamer, Fandango and, eventually, the taunter was escorted out and handed over to the police. The ridiculousness of the situation was that this man dared to slap Eddie Edwards, risking a far more severe retaliation in a different era of wrestling. Thankfully, the incident was caught on tape, saving Eddie from any potential fallout.”

During the podcast, Hardy also gave his opinion on present-day, top-notch play-by-play announcers in wrestling. He praised Michael Cole, saying, “Looking at his entire body of work, Cole has shown consistent growth and has enthusiastically embraced his role. Cole initially joined from the news industry and would often ask veterans for insights to improve his commentary. Once he understood professional wrestling, he improved exponentially. Despite the presence of greats like JR, I feel Cole stands out. JR, despite his intermittent commentary stints, will always be a classic. However, in terms of active, full-time professionals, my vote goes to Michael Cole.”
