At the recent ROH Final Battle 2024 event, Athena successfully defended her ROH Women’s World Title against wrestling competitor Billie Starkz. The night was filled with intensity and excitement, which didn’t cease even after the match.
During the after-show media interaction, Athena shared intriguing details about her Two-Face inspired wrestling gear. Drawing inspiration from Batman’s iconic villain, the wrestling champion discussed her character’s duality, which she claims mirrors her own personality, embodied in her ring attire.
Here are some highlighted exchanges from the post-match dialogue:
When asked about her attire’s inspiration, Athena shared, “Two-Face. People often tell me I have a harsh side to me. But honestly, I’m the sweetest person. I am a huge Batman aficionado. He’s my ultimate favourite superhero. I am fascinated by all the villains because anytime Batman could take the wrong path. The villains’ characteristics intrigue me. Harvey Dent’s constant battle between his good and bad side is so stunningly messy that I felt a strong urge to pay tribute to it.”
Expressing her joy that her audience understood her gear’s reference, Athena added, “I am a hardcore fan of Two-Face. I’m overjoyed to know my audience got the hint. Many believe I have a mean tune and tend to lose my cool. Perhaps, to some extent. I believe representing the different shades of Athena – the nice side confronting the slightly hot-tempered side – was a wonderful blend. No offence to anyone’s gimmick.”
