After clinching victory at the Final Battle 2024 event, Komader, the newly crowned ROH World Television Champion, opened up about his harrowing experiences of near-death not once, but twice, when he was still a baby.
It was a widely witnessed event when Komader took the reins from Brian Cage at the famous Hammerstein Ballroom, a match that consisted of other well-known wrestlers like Willie Mack, Mark Davis, AR Fox, and Blake Christian.
In the media scrutiny that followed the match, Komader looked back on his journey right from his birth where he had to fight for his life. He stated,
“First things first, I owe a lot to Tony Khan and I can’t thank him enough. I’m truly blessed. I would like to think that my faith has brought wonderful people into my life. In my world, I need to give my all if I want the world to reciprocate. A lot of people aren’t aware that I was born prematurely and had two near-death experiences.
“That’s a huge responsibility and it’s not something I take lightly. I believe I need to keep moving forward, helping others, and pursuing my dreams and passion. I’ll never stop, but will keep striving and working hard.”
Komander first made his appearance in ROH at the Supercard of Honor event in 2023. Unfortunately, his challenge to El Hijo Del Vikingo, the then-AAA Mega Champion, didn’t result in a win for him.
In parallel, Komander has been battling in the ongoing year’s Continental Classic of AEW. He made it to the competition filling in for the injured Juice Robinson but had to exit without any points.
