Bret Hart, a significant figure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), confesses that he was clueless about the company when he first agreed to participate.
Bret made his first appearance at the pioneering event, Double or Nothing 2019, hosted by AEW. At the event, he unveiled the design of the AEW World Championship to the audience.
During a recent guest visit to the renowned “Inside The Ropes” podcast, Hart shockingly revealed that he had absolutely no information about AEW prior to their pay-per-view event. In his own words, he explained,
“Actually, my trip to Las Vegas was solely for a personal appearance and to do a signing. But then, I received a call asking if I could make an appearance at the AEW show. I was not even familiar with it at that time. They simply explained to me that I just needed to cross the street from my hotel, enter the building, walk towards the ring and lift the belt in front of the crowd. They offered to pay me a handsome amount for it.”
Bret went on to emphasize that his AEW appearance was never intended to disrespect WWE. He viewed it as an opportunity to lend his support to an emerging company and network with new wrestlers.
Known as “The Hitman,” Bret Hart expressed his admiration for the AEW by stating that it plays a crucial role in today’s wrestling world. He commended the management of Tony Khan’s company and affirmed that he believes their strategies surpass those of WWE.
