On a recent installment of “No Contest Wrestling” podcast, Dominik Mysterio discussed his experience of being CM Punk’s inaugural opponent after the latter’s return to WWE. Mysterio mentioned that Punk’s wrestling tactics were decidedly typical and devoid of anything exceptional.

The match was held at the post-Christmas event at Madison Square Garden, marking Punk’s comeback after an absence of almost a decade from the WWE ring.

In the same podcast, Mysterio divulged the names of wrestlers he would prefer to be his allies in a genuine bar fight. The list included the late Eddie Guerrero, Bronson Reed, and his ex-stablemate Damian Priest.

Highlights of the podcast are as follows:

Speaking about wrestling with CM Punk, Mysterio said, “I was tasked with welcoming Punk back after his ten-year hiatus. It was exactly what I anticipated – an elder man attempting to regain his past glory. It was quite amusing when he appeared in plain black underwear. The company relied on me to give CM Punk a taste of his first punchbacks, a sort of welcome-home present. There was definitely a unique energy between us. In my view, Punk owes me one. As I remember, he once sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to my sister when I was approximately 12 years old. When Punk sported his long black hair, he intimidated my entire family. His infamous faction, the Straight Edge Society, is however forgettable. Given that I have garnered experience and he no longer wields any power over me, I am eager for another face-off. His moves are repetitive and predictable. I am confident I have decoded his playbook.”

Regarding who he would want by his side in a bar brawl, he name-dropped Eddie Guerrero, stating, “I would pick Eddie [Guerrero] for being a tough guy underneath his adorable exterior.” He added that Eddie once hurled boxes of production equipment in a fit of anger, displaying a characteristic Latino temperament.

Mysterio also mentioned his desire to have Damian Priest as his bar fight comrade, citing his usefulness as a large man who can clear a path.
