On a recent episode of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T shared his thoughts on Tessa Blanchard’s return to TNA Wrestling, despite her history of past controversies.
Highlights from the podcast can be seen below:
Regarding Tessa Blanchard’s deal with TNA Wrestling, Booker T said, “Tessa Blanchard is making a comeback in TNA. There’s already been criticism and attempts to ‘cancel’ her. But folks, let it go. If something has been said, an apology offered and amends made, we should be ready to move on. The thing with social media is, everyone knows about what’s out there, but not many know the real story.”
Booker T gave an example, saying, “Let’s say, at my Reality of Wrestling, two female wrestlers had an issue. I advised them to straighten it out, to end their feud. Social media may have picked that up, but aren’t aware that these two have mended fences, have worked together and teamed up. So guys, drop the hostility and allow Tessa Blanchard a chance to revive and reimagine her career.”
Speaking about second chances, he noted, “Unless a line is crossed, I’ve never held a grudge. I’ve had disagreements with people, and though they were told to leave, they were often given a second chance. I believe in people erring and being given another chance. And I can speak about it because, as I’ve made massive mistakes in my own life and was given a second chance and that’s why I’m here right now – because of that second chance. So I can’t be someone who discards another like waste without giving them another chance.”
On Blanchard’s TNA World Title run, he remarked, “As far as her in-ring abilities, I’ve always admired Tessa Blanchard. But when they made that decision, I was against it. I’ve said this before, it was the worst decision TNA could have made since it started. Looking back, I was absolutely right to say that.”
