The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), previous AEW Tag Team Champions, made an appearance at the NJPW Strong Style Evolved 2024 event over the weekend.
After Jack Perry’s tag team match, in which he partnered with Konosuke Takeshita, against Shingo Takagi and Yota Tsuji, The Young Bucks came to his aid.
Late after the event, NJPW released a backstage video showcasing a conversation between The Young Bucks and Perry.
Perry talked about losing the TNT Title and being chained to a bus. Matt Jackson made casual reference to his home activities, saying that “It’s been hectic.”
Both Matt and Nick Jackson expressed their support for Perry. They revealed that they had come to Perry’s assistance on Sunday night because they were on his team and hinted at the possibility of having a private conversation about this later on. Matt jokingly indicated that Perry might have stolen their spotlight, stating, “It’s cool though, no worries.”
All these indicate a potential tension brewing within The Elite.
The Young Bucks last competed on the October 30th episode of AEW Dynamite, in which they conceded their AEW Tag team Titles to Private Party. They will be competing for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships at Wrestle Dynasty in the Tokyo Dome on January 5, 2025. They later shared some post-match videos.
