In an episode of “AEW Unrestricted,” Shelton Benjamin opened up about his past altercation with Bobby Lashley. He intriguingly recalled a wrestling face-off they had at OVW.
The renowned member of The Hurt Syndicate detailed, “My relationship with Bobby actually started before he made his WWE debut. I was recuperating from a hand fracture, and decided to head down to OVW for some casual practice. Bobby was there, engrossed in his training. It inevitably led us to an impromptu wrestling match, as I was eager to gauge his skills. The event turned into a spectacle as they cleared the ring and we went at it. The controversy still persists as Bobby claims he won, and I justify he went dishonest [laughs]. I fought fair, almost pinning him down twice but with every attempt, he grabbed the rope for support. In my final attempt, I avoided the rope. We will most likely keep up the argument until we’re too old to remember [laughs]. That was my firsthand experience of his talent. He’s an incredible individual.”
